Tedworth Square – Chelsea

This house was completely stripped out and renovated throughout nearly all the internal loadbearing lath and plater walls were removed to accommodate the new layout. The most challenging aspect of the work was to restore some of the lath and plaster walls in order to maintain a strict budget for the project. A large section of the main rear elevation wall which was constructed from solid masonry was removed and for work a double box frame was designed to support the entire weight of the main rear elevation wall. Elsewhere the house was totally refurbished and a new lift shaft was installed. A number of internal steel beams were designed to fit within the tight floor to ceiling height and to accommodate services. A roof terrace was also designed to create a practical amenity space and at the same time house the lift equipment and chillers for the air conditioning system.
