Queen’s Road – Richmond

The project involved the construction of a new building using in situ reinforced concrete framing, seamlessly linked to an original corner building. The existing structure underwent a full refurbishment and underpinning process to extend its depth, aligning it with the new build and enabling the entire basement to be utilized as a car park. The design prioritized a minimal number of columns paired with large-span beams, ensuring heavy column loads were efficiently supported by piled foundations. Additionally, balconies were cantilevered off the main structure with slimline beams counteracting torsional forces. This innovative approach exemplifies cutting-edge structural engineering techniques, providing both functionality and aesthetic appeal.
