Albany Park – Kingston
The building was constructed from loadbearing brick and block with precast concrete floors. The foundations were formed as a reinforced concrete raft and linking to the foundations were the retaining walls that allowed for the formation of a lower ground floor level. A number of steel trimmers were introduced at upper floors and supported over the loadbearing internal walls to allow for different orientation of the floor span. The roof was designed as a lightweight timber frame construction which was the most economical form of creating the vaulted space.
